On September 28th, the Dual Language School was thrilled to invite Veronica Robles, a Massachusetts Arts for Learning artist to share her program, Dancing with the Colors of Mexico, with the DLS community. Veronica Robles is a Mariachi singer by trade and is well known in the Boston area. Her work utilizes the power of the arts and culture to bring communities together by raising awareness of the importance of diversity, and empowers youth by teaching them about their roots and culture. Veronica is Co-founder and Director of the Veronica Robles Cultural Center, which supports community action and economic growth in East Boston, features Latin American arts and culture programs and provides jobs for area youth. In 2019, with the support of The Boston Foundation, Veronica Robles founded Boston’s First Ever All Women Mariachi Band.

This was made possible with a grant from the Waltham Cultural Council and PTO funds, in celebration of the Hispanic Heritage Month.
