It's Art at deCordova!

The 4th grade started their week with an eye towards art and nature with their field trip to the deCordova Sculpture Park in Lincoln on Monday, June 5th. The mission at deCordova, which is part of the Trustees of Reservations, is to inspire, educate, and delight its visitors with contemporary art from New England and beyond through outdoor sculptures. With multiple activities organized by their art teacher, Mr. Plourde, the 4th graders walked the grounds to observe and draw sculptures and art installations, create eco-art, and explore the property with a scavenger hunt. The students braved the rainy weather, and some even incorporated the raindrops into their drawings using watercolor pencils. The time at deCordova was an excellent opportunity to bring their art instruction outdoors and capture some of those outdoors with pencil and paper. A big thank you to Mr. Plourde for organizing this trip!
